Everything You Should Know About Megadrill

We Build, Refurbish, Operate, Maintain, and provide Technical Service to the ultra-shallow water drilling environment.  We define ultra-shallow water as operating in water depths of less than 75’.  Our primary operations are in 6’ to 35’ of water.

Operating in these water depths require expertise in both the rig and the logistics.  Our rigs are specifically designed to operate in water depths where other rigs such as jack-ups cannot operate.  In addition to our rigs being built for purpose, we also provide marine logistics to support ultra-shallow water operations.

OPERATIONS

Megadrill specialize in ultra-shallow water operations working in both inland and open water offshore locations. All of our rigs are ABS Classed meeting the latest international maritime and API standards. Our rigs are designed as Zero Discharge for environmentally sensitive areas. As bottom founded (sit on the seabed) our rigs are quick to rig up and do not require expensive preloading time. Rig movements are less sensitive to weather and wave actions that other rig types often face.

CONSTRUCTION and REFURBISHMENT

In addition to having full operations, Megadrill is also heavily involved in the construction and refurbishment of Ultra Shallow Water drilling rigs. We have a staff of dedicated engineering and project managers that specialize in the new construction and refurbishment of our rigs. Megadrill has built the only “new build” high spec barge rig for the international market in the last 20 years. We have also life enhanced and refurbished several rigs to meet the high demands of our clients. Finally, Megadrill has several conceptual rig designs that could be customized to meet a specific client’s ultra-shallow water needs.

LOGISTICS and SUPPORT

Megadrill also provides marine logistics and support for ultra-shallow water operations. We own a fleet of shallow draft marine equipment to move the rigs as well as supply logistics and support for the drilling operations. Along with shallow draft boats to move the rigs, shallow draft barges are utilized to provide needed supplies such as fuel, liquid mud, dry bulk material, etc.
